📇 Mr. Beast & James Patterson Write a Thriller Novel

At PWR House, we help creators build out new revenue streams and set up businesses, but this news came as a surprise to me.

Mr. Beast plans to co-author a book with author James Patterson, which will be released in 2026 by the (very traditional) publishing house HarperCollins.

I can see the Mr. Beast autobiography sometime in the future, but I didn’t expect him to pair up with a famous author to write a thriller novel.

Though upon further reflection, this is really on-brand for Mr. Beast. The new thriller novel is supposed to be about 100 people competing in a life-or-death competition for a large financial prize.

That’s essentially the plot of Beast Games and most Mr. Beast videos.

If you read between the lines, I’m sensing a few things:
1 — In a world where almost every media & entertainment business is grasping at their “creator strategy,” HarperCollins launching a book with the world’s biggest YouTuber is a relatively safe bet.

2 — If positioned well, the IP created by Mr. Beast and James Patterson could be adapted into film, TV, or other forms of media. Patterson’s novels have already been adapted several times and that’s where HarperCollins will find the most commercial upside.

It’s important to follow what Mr. Beast is doing because he’s a leading voice in the creator economy. And more often than not, other creators will try to create their own versions of his businesses.

Mr. Beast is the influencer’s influencer.

He also does a great job of bringing mainstream attention to things. Most big brands and executives don’t know many influencers but they probably know Mr. Beast. Every thing he does helps validate the ongoing evolution and maturation of the creator economy.

I don’t consider Mr. Beast to be an author but I’m sure he can afford a combination of the world’s leading ghostwriters and a ChatGPT Plus subscription.

Add James Patterson to the mix and maybe we can get the next version of Hunger Games/Battle Royale/Squid Games!
