These days, every brand should think of itself as a media company.

Jewelry brand Alexis Bittar has created a series called “The Bittarverse,” a satirical look at the New York fashion industry that was initially released on Instagram Reels.

The lead characters in this series are “UES emotional terrorist” Margeaux and Jules, a comedic duo that mocks the spiky personalities of people in the fashion industry and addresses topics like elitism, racism, and transphobia.

More and more characters have been added to the series as new episodes continue to be released and plotlines continue to develop. Each episode also integrates Alexis Bittar jewelry pieces.

In the video comments, you can see people are super engaged, leaving positive feedback, and find the show hilarious. Some people are even begging to turn this into a bigger series.

Alexis Bittar is creating lore about the brand that is fueled by ongoing storylines centered around dynamic characters like Margeaux. They cut through the noise of traditional ads/commercials and the series has even won a 2024 Webby Award.

The Alexis Bittar brand was relaunched only three years ago and this “Bittarverse” concept has been a key part of their growth. The brand experienced 30% sales growth in 2024 and massive follower increases on their social channels.

In 2025, the term “creativity” shouldn’t just mean a cool ad. Old school advertising doesn’t work in a modern world.

This new format of digitally native micro-content is what people want. This is a new approach to branded entertainment that is lower cost and more engaging to modern audiences.

Every brand should be asking itself how to think more like a media company.
